I recently bought a van and the It has an English Reg, The previous owners lived in Ireland but returned to England to tax the vehicle. I have the papers but i'm stuck on how to go about getting the plates change to Irish ones:? as i can't even tax the van until i get them?? Any Help would much appreciated :)

Register it for a fee at your local VRO office.

If its a proper commercial van (i.e. no back seats etc) then you can get it an Irish reg for a mere €50. You will need the V5 document from the UK side. Give that to the VRO. When you pay the money the VRO will assign you an Irish registration number. Its up to you to then go and get the proper number plates. Once you have the Irish reg you can get it taxed.

In which case, I think you need to ask the question in the Motorhomes & Campervans forum http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=884

I'd say it will complicate things a lot :(
