Bought a cd player/radio thingy about a year ago but lost receipt.

One of the buttons to change the radio stations is stuck. (probably a faulty spring)

    Have I any comeback?

If you do not have a receipt or did not register the item when you purchased it, then you really do not have any comeback.

Your only hope would be if the store was one of the ones that take name, address, and product details onto their system at the point of purchase, but generally that is only done with items of a certain value, plus you would remember if you had done that.

You could always chance a call or email to the manufactuer and chance your arm there.

You don't need a receipt, but you do need some kind of proof of purchase.

Did you pay by card? Laser/Visa/Mastercard? If so, just bring in your bank statement showing the amount and they should be able to track down the payment then. Some places are even able to pull up the transaction within seconds if you just bring the physical card to the store with you.

Also, the likes of Tesco may be able to trace it if you used a clubcard or similar loyalty card system in the transaction.

If you simply paid by cash though, then without a receipt, you have very little comeback...
