Hi all. Just got my broadband installed last week. Its only the 1mb eircom package as im on the amber program apparently. Just wondering is anyone else seeing over 50ms pings to ireland and over 70ms to UK Servers ? I know my line stats arent great at all , but ive input them into this calc http://212.23.23.177/ADSL/default.aspx and my line is apparently capable of 3681Kbps :
    noise margin downstream: 21 db
    output power upstream: 15 db
    attenuation downstream: 62 db

    noise margin upstream: 15 db
    output power downstream: 0 db
    attenuation upstream: 31 db

The pings im getting although playable are a little high in my opinion, Ive done a bit of reading and apparently there was some problems with the b-ras in portlaoise, Does anyone know if this has been solved since ?

Ping to england is worse :

I assume this higher than normal ping is due to interleaving ? Am I doomed to high pings as long as im with eircom ?

Your attenuation downstream is pretty dire.

They`ve prolly put high interleaving on your phone line to combat that, hence the pings.
