Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nah, fitting a radio is Motors fare. If he was looking to fit a filangee and defrabulate a drivers side perambulator this would be kicked over to MM. :pac:

i had a look at those parrot mki but i think 300 lids is a bit much or rather more then i want to spend.
i'd like to keep it under 150 if possible, so has no one any experience with replacing a toyota corolla similar to mine?

You could get a harmon kardon drive and play unit comes in round the 50€ mark. Can be hard wired or used via an auxilary input. I have 1 I got from ebay decent unit. Loads like this on ebay

I got an ipod input for my car from integrated solutions and fitted it myself.
And all without ever doing any car modifications that required anything more than petrol/oil/tyre air injection specialist skills...

Integrated are v helpful though - I just told them make, model, year of car. What i wanted (mainly aux for any mp3). Then they told me to check firmware of my radio (doubt you'd have to do that).

Took me approx 2 - 2 1/2 hours to fit. Mine was a mission too - in an RX 8 so had to dismantle a huge amount. Was a bit worried half way through when my car looked like it was in the middle of an assembly line, but i just followed a good tutorial and everything went swimingly.

Much better sound quality than any wireless solution.

Im in more or less the same boat and ive started a thread to no joy in motors.

As we speak looking @ €100 for halfords to do it with parts.
Ive rang a local sports car spares place and they said they need to see it and guessed from €75-€100.
Ive found the parts for it but after that i wouldn't chance it

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/Toyota-Corolla-Car-Stereo-Fitting-Kit-Fascia-Wiring_W0QQitemZ270406810343QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_FasciaPlates_SM?hash=item3ef5807ae7&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1301|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50

Id have thought this would have been a easy number for a nixer for someone in the know

i had a mechanic friend who could have helped me but he fcuked back off to NZ when our country when down the toilet

here come more instructions if they are any use to you
    http://www.fitaudio.com/?View=entry&EntryID=159

i would think about doing it myself but i know very little about car stereos and id only probably render it unless by some security feature
halfords said they might not even replace my stereo for 100 cause it wouldn't be covered
also the boyos in halfords told me the job would take a few hours

i dont care to much about replacing the stero the main thing is getting the ipod to play for me
that's why i was looking at this

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150180777911&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123

but it might be worth my while replacing if im going to all the trouble to ripping half the dash out.

so are you going to ask the someone you know how much they would do it for then give me their contact detail eh eh eh?

Dont Bring it to Halfrauds what ever you do they butchered my old car and stereo fell out a few days later fitted it myself not to hard ISO Loom & FM Booster for the Aerial and fitting it all in behind the Radio was the hardpart! i know some of the Toyotas require dash removel so bring to a Car Audio Specialist avoid Halfrauds at all costs!

@Menuisier: Cheers for that pic tutorial. Ive a mate who said he`d have a go, but don’t wanna try it an as you said lock the security or break the trim.
I wish I knew someone to do it, seems one of these simple to do but no one wants jobs.

@The real b-man: If I got them and it fell out id be back to them. They do it they should cover it like any service work done.
Also I know im being overcharged. But when you get the well have a look line of places what do you do?
Plus im brutal @ this thing, done it on my car @ the moment and blew a fuse earthed the aerial and metal cage.
