Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

2007 VW Golf - Brake Light

    Hi Golf Owners,

A friend called around to ask me help change the near side brake light bulb in her 07 VW Golf, I thought the usual; get the back cover off and replace the burnt bulb but behind the carpet I just see 2 nuts and connector where I hoped to gain access?

Do these nuts need to be opened and the back light cluster taken off from the outside to get at the bulbs that way?

    Thanks...

Generally there's a plastic clip on the side of the inside of the light cluster which allows you to remove the board with the bulbs in it.

I'll have another look but pretty sure the only fastenings are the 2 nuts and the power connection block.

Have a look in the handbook under bulb replacement, there's generally a picture there.

Thank you both, I just thought VW would have the usual remove cover and replace bulb method.
