Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Too easy for Spain...ridiculous that it this easy...feel sorry for NZ...they are going in at half time with their tails between their legs, and have another 45 mins of this..

Bahrain, DPRK, Iran or Saudi Arabia will surely be too much for the sheep loving NZ when they meet in the WC play off. Stick to the rugger i'd say for the all whites.

Would you fancy any of these teams to do any better against Spain?

Will someone get Rentokil out to that then?
That noise better not be there for every match... it detracts from even a 5-0 Spain win.

The ridicluous horns are a norm in SA footie it seems. Whenever Utd have had pre-season games there theyve been at it all game. It's so annoying and has the potential to ruin part of the WC enjoyment.

5-0 while hardly trying for parts of the second half and robbed of two near certain goals by the stoopid linesman. Iraq must be one for double figuers.

The horns "Vuvuzelas" are going to be at every ****ing 2010 match.

I did a bit of a search and apperantly Fifa wanted to ban them but SA made a case that they are integrated too much into SA football to ban them and they are now being allowed.

Hopefully they change the rules so that they are banned at every match SA is not involved in.
The locals are going to get a shock when they get them broken over their heads from other fans. They are so annoying its unbelievable.

So NZ are one game away from the world cup finals....having overcome the might of New Caledonia, Vanuata and Fiji in their qualifying group?!

    Something is wrong there somewhere...

regarding those blasted horns...one of the lads i was watching it with asked if there was a giant angry bee in the stadium...if those things are gonna be at the world cup then i think i'll be watching it on BBC or on mute or at the very worst on ITV

    Its a toughie.
I guess you have to give Oceania some sort of representation, so half a place seems just about reasonable.
Its probably not fair to judge them against Spain anyway.

FIFA, Jack Walker, Mr Blatter, do you read this board?
All will be forgiven if you ban those bloody horns next summer (you can allow them in the South African games).

Thats fair enough, but I dunno....surely they should be lumped in with another qualifying zone such as Asia....didnt Australia move to that zone? Although I'm not up to speed with why they were moved...

Its just I was astonished to find that NZ were so close to the WC 2010! If only Ireland had such a qualifying group! :D:P

But if you throw NZ into Asia then you still have 30 countries in Oceania and as said they have to have some sort of representation at the finals, so you end up perhaps with Fiji or Pitcairn getting into a playoff?

Unless you make a decision that Oceania is rubbish and derserves no representation whatsoever, which seems unfair.

Xavi6 might know the reasons why Australia moved, I'm not sure but I think they asked for the move themselves as they felt they were too big a fish for that pond.

They were lobbying for it for years.

They felt it was unfair that they'd play qualifiers against teams of a low standard (afaik they beat a south pacific island 36-0 a few years back) and then have to make a leap up to a higher standard to play someone like Peru, Ecuador or Colombia.

    also: Come on Egypt!
