Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    They're no match for Giles/Dunphy.

The Dunphy/Giles/Souness roadshow is a great laugh. Better entertainment than the matches

Ive been impressed by the US, a few well known and established players in that team. Bradley has been impressive (although not the FIFA World Player of the Year performance George Hamilton is making it out to be) and Landon Donovan looks creative and sharp on the ball. Jozy Altidore (NOT Altidoreeee) is a good player despite a few air shots. Is Freddy Adu in the squad?

Edit: Yes he is, but Danny Szetela isnt. Shame, he looks like a good young player.

The decline of Italy is unreal. The likes of Gattuso and Pirlo used to be world class players, now they look slow and unfit.

In fairness, it is a meaningless tournament at the end of a long season

    WHAT A GOAL!

Camronesi should never kick a ball again for Italy.

    Freddy Adu.

Touted as the salvation of Soccer, he was destined for big things. He made his MLS debut at 16. He had a trial with Manchester United when he was 18 i think, when we had Henrik Larsson on loan, we took Adu on a 2 week trial. We didnt sign him on. He went back to the US with Real Salt Lake. Adu then looked like a great player during the u-19 world championships where himself, Altidore, Bradley and Szetela looked really good, i watched them a few times and thought very highly of them. After that Benfica then took the plunge and signed him, but he has since been loaned to AS Monaco.

He is in the squad for this Confederations Cup.

Loan period is up, going back to Benfica, Monaco decided not to extend it.

It will be greatly reduced because there'll be way more fans from the other countries. Only for the RSA games, of course.

Rossi is American, his parents are Italian. Although he moved back to Italy to play football when he was young enough.

It sounds like the stadium is built inside a giant bees hive. Hope to funk those things are not blowing during the WC next year.

Just turned it on there, wtf is that noise? Sounds like a swarm of bees!

RTE would get a feed of the sound from inside the stadium, and put the commentary
    into this.

Surely they could turn the stadium channel down and the commentary feed up.
There is no way this can go on during the world cup. There is no overstatement in saying it will ruin the tournament next summer. It's not acceptable.

Are the Italians only allowed to score class goals or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,678 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

if Rossi doesnt get a start in that team from now on

    Id give up

Italy need to ditch the old fogeys and play their younger players! De Rossi, Rossi and Montolivo are the future.

    Likewise, he was very impressive.

Rossi needs to start the next game.Montolivo and Quagliarello should be given starts too, and maybe Santon.

this tournament should be used to blood the youngsters for Italy
