Yet another PS3 NAT question

    Howdy,

Let me start off by saying I frickin love my PS3 and i've never had any issues with it in the past. But now I need some help with the NAT settings (oh no I hear you say). A lot of advice has been given on Eircom routers and well I am with BT and would be very grateful if someone could give me some advice.

I have my Ps3 linked up with my PC and I am running TVersity for media sharing (only stating this cos i read on another thread that changing the NAT to NAT1 can mess up media sharing?).

So me and mate are mad into COD WAW and for ages we were wondering why we couldn't join eachothers "parties" so my mate comes to boards.ie finds out that he needs to change his NAT settings to NAT1 and bingo he can now send me invites and i can now link up with him in parties = dead easy for 4 or 5 of us to get on the same server.

Sooo I started to look into my NAT settings... I am currently on NAT2. From reading other threads this is probably the best? Sould I be able to invite people to my COD parties with this or will i need to go to NAT1?

ok history aside, has anyone else setup NAT1 on their BT router? if so configuration details would be very much appreciated. As any attempt by me so far hasn't bore any fruit.

    Cheers
    M

Hi. I think I can get you NAT type 1. I did it for myself. Are you eircom?

If you are on NAT2 there is no need to change it.
NAT2 is the ideal setting for your PS3 as it allows media streaming, sharing over your network and will open requested ports when you are using your PC, PS3 online.

    +1

Change nothing. You have the best setup. Full online capability and full media capability.

    Shound lads,

    So riddle me this...

When i tried to invite my PSN mates to my COD WAW party it was their Eircom routers on NAT3 that wasn't allowing them to join me?

Therefore I should be able to invite them to my party (I've a faster connection) without any worries?

Suppose the proof is in da pudding I'll give it an ol lash tonight to confirm.

    Cheers
    M

In the end i didn't need to do anything so you guys were 100% correct. it was my buddies on NAT3 that were messing up the invites.

All sorted now cheers for all the advice.
