That was pretty easy. Answered everything but guessed a few. Overall quite happy. I'd say I got a B

    What a brilliant test.!:D..
I got most of it right i think except for that bit in the chemsitry section on "carbon 12 & 13 are _____ of carbon"
    Any ideas?
Overall I'm Pleased.. a test I finally came out of feeling very confident.!
Religion on the otherhand just ruined the day..

    Yep, that's right. Isotopes. :D

I thought overall it was very easy. I didn't even study bloody habitats! WTH is a line transect anyway?

Chemistry was eeasy peasy! Got all of it!

Physics wasn't actually that bad! I thought I was screwed for it! The only part I didn't get was the LDR experiment. I just drew a made-up circuit for a diagram.

    Overall, really pleased. :D:D

    ah s**t.! how didn't I get that.!
I've been belting that definition of isotopes into my head for the last few weeks.!!!! i said atoms :p

Its a long tape-like thing that shows the changes of species as you move up a gradient of land.! thank god we used one in the seashore habitat my class went to visit or i wouldn't have known otherwise.!

Haha, cheers. That's not what I put. I said it was square thing that you stick in a bush or tree or something and insects get trapped in it. :D

Haha! I just burst out laughing when I read that!

I was sitting there of like 5 minutes trying to think of the name, and I went through the alphabet. I was like ''Booter, Cooter, Dooter, Footer...Pooter! Yes! Got it!

Yup, it was a kidney :)
I thought it was ok, don't know what to think really.
Biology was fine but not sure about the other two, I think I passed though.

Agar is like this substance in a Petri dish that attracts micro-organisms. It's like a food for them.

even though it said name this organ xD

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70 ✭✭squishness

I am obviously very stupid :pac:
I thought it was a carpel. Like, in a plant.
I said it was for reproduction and all... :P
Someone's gonna get a right laugh out of that.

OH BTW WHAT WAS THE FIRST QUESTION?
Q.name 2 processes that leaves of green plants carry out?
i said photosynthesis, not sure bou the other one..
    Guessed it..

I thought that too but then it said "2" so I said absorbs carbon dioxide and makes chlorophyll  I'm not sure though

    Me too. :)

Did anyone get the experiment for the Physics? I didn't have a clue..

What the hell was that organ in biology. We were all guessing whether it was a kidney or a lung.

Was it the kidney? I said it was a germinating seed because it had little petals in it...why would they put little petals in it if it wasn't to do with a plant? And the fact that they said organ doesn't really make a difference because the seed is an organ of a plant...Like the flower is the sexual organ...

It does like abit like a seed. I think that question was ridiculous. There was no obvious sign to tell what it was.

... Have you guys ever seen a kidney before? This is just surreal...

What was the energy conversions of the drill in physics?
    I said
    1. Potential---Kinetic
    2. Chemical--Electrical

    Prob completely wrong yes?

    Why what's the answer!

Edit: AHAHAHAHHA omg it was a kidney
oh i hope the examiner get's a good laugh out of my answer

    exactly what I said..
    is it right?

I found it difficult to find a second energy conversion, so I said it was

    Electrical --- Magnetic
    Magnetic --- Kinetic

I didn't say chemical - Electrical because the actual process for making the electricity wasn't included in the picture, but they may allow for that.

Science exam made me insanely happy, they never asked about the eye or labelling plants and all that, which I am terrible at so it was great times. Even physics was alright! *smug*

why did u say magnetic for the drill???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70 ✭✭squishness

    said potential to kinetic
    and electrical to kinetic...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 316 ✭✭Halla Basin

It's kind of nitpicking, but electricity converts to magnetic energy for a brief time before it actually engages the drill, loik.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,553 ✭✭✭soccymonster

    i said electrical => kinetic
electrical => heat (just a guess!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70 ✭✭squishness

Was kinda funny how they were like "two useful conversions." What would they consider useful? :pac:

    exact same as me :O

in fairness i though that was a tough enough paper ... not sure if i got an A
i got an A in the mocks though :S

Smart-ass. Something that helps the drill do what drills are sposeda do.

but still o.0 what not useful conversions could there be in a drill?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 316 ✭✭Halla Basin

    friction - heat for example

Maybe something that makes the spinner spin??..
    Beats me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70 ✭✭squishness

ahhh I suppose. Ah well :o My bad.

what's the test for hydrogen? :|
I said a glowing splint would pop. Was told glowing wasn't the same as lit, and it was meant to be lit? ack

How does one confirmthe presence of hard water? I put down the soap flakes test. But that only checks one sample of water's hardness to another.
