A few of us are thinking on going on a fishing holiday.
None of us have fished before to any degree.
We were told that Belturbet in Cavan was the place to fish.
Lots of holiday homes, boats for hire.
We are just looking for something different, relaxing, not to serious.
Anyone any experience of this area, or should we consider somewhere else.?

Cavan county is full of lakes and pubs, just what a holiday needs!
There is a cavanfishing forum website, I don't have the web address, but I'm sure a search would locate it.

make sure you get a bit of practice in at home in a canal or something to make sure you know what you are doing and arent needlessly hurting or killing the fish.. unless your intentionally fishing for something you can actually eat..

    check out places like this:

Some friends stayed at a holiday village called Clonandra Cottages in Belturbet. They have a website. The owner was very helpful and helped them organise a party. He was probably trying to make sure they did not wreck the place.
