Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry. It's quite difficult to keep up with all the questions!

I adopted DC + V as I am trying to loose weight (I had lost 2.5 stone before Germany struck and did some damage) and I calculated that as the least damaging way to get drunk.

    solid reasoning!

do you still try watch wwf/e or have you given up altogether? (if so when did you give up?)

I gave up when Chris Benoit killed his family. I cannot in good conscience deal with the fact that I cheered on someone who became a mass killer. I did when he was here, btw. The guy was an amazing physical actor but my love of wrestling was tied in with a love of his performance. I can't seperate them.

1- Yes. I recall playing both the originals, red and blue.
2- No idea. Pokemon was no where near as much an important game to me as some of the others here. I can no more remember how I started out in that than how I started out in some obscure RPG game on the PS1.

    1. What do you like/dislike about Germany??

    2. As someone in a band, what do you like/dislike about the music scene in Ireland??

    3. Favourite werewolf movie??

If you can read this, you're too close!

I only have 2 blu rays. I have only watched 1! I have Casino Royale (got it free with the PS3) and I have Street Fighter: The ties that bind (came with the special edition box set of SF4). So the Street Fighter film is the answe to all your Blu ray questions as it's the only one I've seen!

I have never bought a Guitar hero game. Not trying to sound superior or anything but if I want to play along to a song, I will lash it on and play along to it on my guitar! I can merrily chug along with most Metallica songs as it is.

1 I LOVE alot of things about Germany. What I like most is the younger Germans... if you run into them in a working capacity, they always have a big smile as barmaids or whatever. There's a happiness about them.

What I dislike...it's hard to explain, but there seems to be this culture of doing the right thing in any given circumstance... even if the right thing is not the nice thing to do... if you get me?

    2. There's less and less opportunity for young bands to get out and gig in Dublin. It's an important side to being in a band which is slowly draiing away... I would say there is a third as many venues for small bands in Dublin as when I started.

Good... well, man, there's just so much talent in Dublin. So much! I mean, there's people playing in their bedrooms right now who'd put whatever given band you like to shame. It's something in the water in Dublin, and it's a great pity it isn't nurtured more.

    3. I have a soft spot for the Ginger snaps series. Again, I have fond memories of watching them in York.

    And Ginger's hot :)

Witness the can of worms open...

1- The last dream I remember I was frantically trying to stop a monster from hurting some of my friends.

2- I used to have a recurring nightmare where a demon was tempting me. I often have dreams in which I physically combat monsters of various stripes. I can only imagine I read too many comic books. :)

3- Yes. I have in fact lived entire lives in a dream. Always disconcerting when you wake up.

4- There's this one they have in Germany which is like a cross between Milka and an Aero... NYOM.

5- When I was younger I would occasionally be informed my physical appearance was intimidating. This would always come as a suprise to me. I don't get it so much nowadays.

    6- No.

7- No friend of mine would ever do this to me.

    8- Shake shake the room.

9- cheap and high quality. Recommended. The Thai food also.

If you had €200k to dish out to charity, who (plural?) would you give it to?

What do you do when someone asks you do you want a big issue? Or a rose when you're on a night out?

    Peanut butter. Yes or no?

Place you'd most like to go on holiday?

Would you ever consider breeding from Zeus (he's a deadly lookin dog btw)?

Ever lack the motivation to do a motivational poster?

    Best beer you've ever tasted?

    1) I don't have names but charities which help sick children enjoy themselves. I would however deliberately avoid charities with religious ties.

    2) No thanks. (I then tell the young lady that when I buy her a rose, it will be a demonstration of my real affection for her, not just because someone made it easy and thrust one in my face).

    3) Yes inside a Kit Kat chunky. NYOM.

    4) Artic Circle.

    5) Poor dude's got no balls so no. Thanks, btw. :)

    6) All the time. sometimes, I'm just not feeling funny and if I'm not feeling funny, they don't come ot funny.

    Ok, go on.

2- I had 2 or 3 lessons at the start and then went my own way so 50/50 I guess.

3- Kicking my feet up with an RPG after a late shift when all is quiet for a mammoth 8 hour session where I stop only to scavenge food and drink.

4- My vocal range goes ridiculously high for an adult male. Unfortunately, I can't sing for crap so any bebefits from this are negated.

    5- 9.5- 10.

    6- Countryside, all the way.

    1. Not really. I feel this has been the best "fought" tournament of all so far. Batman could of gone further but he was unlucky running into someone who logically had him beat early on.

    2. I've not checked since last night but I reckon Super-pred will (I think Prime might be the only one left who can logically stop Superman- one blast from the Matrix and it's all over for Supes.)

    3. No. Too complicated. Seperate it into divisions so people can drop in and vote.

    2. Twilight so evening. I enjoy watching the cancer ball die.

    3. Orion by Metallica. Martha's Harbour by All about eve a close second.

    4. Not really, it's making me think about the things that make me me and it's turning out that I'm pretty happy being me. :)

Soccer is a forum which I simply could not care less about and seems to create a crapload of work for several thoughtful and commited moderators.

I think some users of that forum could do with realising it could just all be taken away tomorrow. I wouldn't even notice it's gone though :)

    2) A every time. Althugh T is also nice.

    3) The DooM doesn't like any hot drinks.

    4) Remember how I mentioned I can have boundless, obsessive enthusiasm?

I bought loads of tab books and magazines and played along with songs on my first cd player. Then as with every kid, I joined 753 bands in secondary school. That's when you really learn how to play.

Not wanting to drag this into a negative space but:

How do you think the Noc is regarded by the wider Boards community?

What about the users who've been around here for a long time?

    Do you care?

Do you think Kharn's involvement lent it/lends it some credibility?

1- There's a 50-50 split from what I see. Some people see it as the pinnicle of the social forums which they absolutely hate and it comes in for some derision from them. I have seen some of it. It seems some people think it'll RUIN BOARDZ 4EVAR!!!

Other people see it as what it is, a slight change in the way a corner of Boards does business. I mean, I mod 2 of the old skewl styled Boards, and it's business as usual. Some people just hate change I guess.

2- Do you mean around the Noc or Boards?

3- Not in the slightest- anymore. I have been a mod long enough and have given enough of my time to Boards to have a certain amount of confidence in my choices and decisions. I'll listen to what people have to say but respect is earned, as with all things. If anyone- mod, user, new or old- makes a good, logical argument about how things should be I will listen and take it on board.

4- At several times, yes. No point in denying it! I do think myself, Orestes and Nerin going on to mod such diverse forums and not burning the place down helped too.

    1. Seriously, I genuinely love the forum the way it is. I wouldn't put the hours in I do otherwise :)

    2. I am not sure "my vision" as you put it would make the forum a more fun place to be. I am not sure it would improve the place. It's a quality place to be IMO.

    3. TBH I could 'force' the Noc into a Gothturnal forum tomorrow if I could convince the other mods to do it. Here's the thing: It wouldn't be right and none of us want it.

I mean if I really wanted to I could just ask for a gothy sub forum. There's ways to match the "vision" I had: I just am not not convinced it'd make anything better for anyone at all.

At it is I am happy enough with the social side and the occasional cultural thread.

Nope. You can't stereotype like that. This forum's got alot of support from long term users.

There ARE some people who don't like change, but they're in the minority tbh.

    NOW RETURN TO ZEE QUESTION/ANSWERS!!!

    1. Favourite superhero (limiting to Marvel and DC)?

    2. Favourite supervillain (as above)?

    3. Favourite storyline arc in a comic (no DC/Marvel limits, anything you want)?

    1. Scarlet Witch. Green Arrow is runner up (Denny O Neil tried, Kevin Smith succeeded.)

    2. *Looks at name, looks at question, looks at name*

I'll give you a clue, it's not Professor Doom. :)

    3. Civil War, while having some poor moments, ressurected the old comic book tradition of dealing with serious topical issues while hiding them behind "it's a comic, it doesn't matter".

As a kid, Time Wars ROCKED my world.

D'oh.:o I always thought that was just something related to your band.

No way! I'm reading it right now.
Finally I have a reason to hate Reed Richards.:D

    Here's a hard one for ya;

    1. If the Doom created a superhero, what would be his/her name, and what would his/her powers and abilities be?

I'd pick something deliberately generic- Like John Smith or Agent Johnson- and the character would be a living embodiment of the Gaia Theory, empowered to stop anything which threatens the continued existence of the ecosphere. His powers would be perversions of these threats ( control of heat = greenhouse effect, etc.)
