Just wondered what Mullingar is like, were a local football team (18 of us) flying over from newcastle area UK on Sat morning, staying over for the weekend and going back home on the tuesday morning.

Whats it like for a night out?

Price of a decent Steak etc?

I did read that post, but it seemed more of a what would be good for a boyfriend + girlfriend, not really for a bunch of lads.

Just copied and pasted the below into this and the otehr thread, as i really need an answer today as its the last time il be at the computer @)

    Hi,

Theirs 18 of us lads coming over from newcastle on sat morning, just got a few questions really, wondering who will be able to answer me best

Probably going to bring over £300. which is about E330 i think,

    A) Will that be enough money to last Sat 9am -> Tuesday 6am (flight home)

    B) How much is the cost of the Average Pint?

    C) How much would i be looking to pay for a steak?

    D) Are their many pubs / clubs in Mullingar?

    E) whats the busiest night to go out, Sat or Sunday?

    F) were playing a football match over their, anyone got any idea who were against lol (long shot i know)

Any answers would be greatley appreciated

Well, welcome to the town, in response to your questions:

    A) Will that be enough money to last Sat 9am -> Tuesday 6am (flight home)
CERTAINLY, UNLESS YOU END UP IN THE CRANE CLUB (CASINO TYPE PLACE) ON THE SATURDAY NIGHT AND BLOW IT ALL

    B) How much is the cost of the Average Pint? €4 AS AN AVERAGE

    C) How much would i be looking to pay for a steak? €10-€15 DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU GO

    D) Are their many pubs / clubs in Mullingar? ABOUT 30 PUBS AND I THINK 4/5 'CLUBS' - THE FINAL FENCE, THE LANE, MOJOS (V YOUNG) AND ULYSESS (MORE A DISCOBAR). ALSO THERE IS TONIC BUT ITS ROUGH SO DONT GET SUCKED IN THERE

    E) whats the busiest night to go out, Sat or Sunday? FRI AND SAT NIGHTS. SUNDAY ISNT THAT BUSY AS EVERYONE HAS WORK THE NEXT DAY - THE FENCE USED TO GET A GOOD CROWD THOUGH ON SUNDAY NIGHTS.

    F) were playing a football match over their, anyone got any idea who were against lol (long shot i know) MULLINGAR TOWN OR MULLINGAR ATHLETIC... I GUESS

    HAVE A GOOD TIME.

It used to be Gallaghers pub up beside the Fence. Guy who had the Crossbar and Spin has opened it. I haven't been but I've heard mixed reviews...
