If a lot of gamestop employees around here are anything to go by you dont need to know much about your games, just your ability to lie about them :pac:

Oh well in that case youve enough covered about games. Make sure your familiar with the hardware aswell and stuff coming up in future. And make sure they know your persuasive since its needed to sell people on additional accessories, 2nd hand games and stuff like that,

Oh and good luck in your interview....and if you get the job cause your guaranteed to have the nerd population swarming at a girl working with games :D

Price, required accessories depending on the person, if they require gold live on xbox(which they should), good games to recommend depending on age of primary users.
Cons & benefits of each.....ah hell.Give me a skirt and ill do the interview for you

My nerdness is really coming out in this thread :o

What you know isn't important, it's the ability to bluff that wins all the time.

You'll probably be asked to sell a console to the interviewer so ensure you know about the features of the 360, Wii, PSP and PS3 and a few reasons why X console is better than Y.

Have you ever had a situation where you dealt with a difficult customer?

Just have a think of what you have experience with and situations you have been in before.

    Good luck!

Maybe online is someting to mention. Xbox 360 live costs a sub, PS3 doesn't AFAIK (but Im a Nintendo Nerd so not 100%). As previous posters say, prob. more concerned with your general attitude than knowledge on consoles.

    Good Luck with it.

just another note.... try and find out something about their business, maybe when it started, where the branches are, all their services for example. it shows you want to work not just for a paycheque, but their business too.

and the very best of luck!! :D

Also if they ask you how you would sell a console, make sure you talk about upselling accessories to get an attachment rate. Retailers like Gamestop love accessory sales as they have massive mark up on most of them.

Let them know you're not afraid to "ask for the sale", as in that you'll push for the customer to buy more games and accessories then they may have intended.

Your aftersale should be the warranty information and how they can trade in the games when their finished for against other games in the store.

Maybe take a look at some of the new stuff from E3, show(imply) that you are interested about whats coming in the future.

    stuff like

"what would you suggest for a 10yr old boy / girl ?"

    "benefits of each console"

"Different deals, how to upsell etc"

ok lol but seriously look at up to date releases and the classics like gow and oblivion fallout etc but TBH sell your personality moreso as im sure they are looking for a candidate with people skills so try and be positive and bubbly!

btw be careful with age certs like dont offer a 10 year old kid gow or gta lol!

    again good luck,

    Ray:cool:

A long spiel about your dedication to customer service and examples of excellent customer service provided by you in the past, that sort of tripe.

And don't blush when you lie or the male interviewer will think your coming onto him the clueless git.
