Seems Ganley hasn't been able to sweet talk his Dutch & Spanish friends and now is set to leave them high & dry with election costs.

In the Netherlands Ganley approved a budget of €1m on advertising but after €350,000 was spent and no money forthcoming from Ganley, the ads were pulled. - Total vote in the whole country was 14,000.

In Spain, there are debts of €1m+ from the unsuccessful campaign and the spanish libertas party are looking to take Ganley to court to recover this money.

Is it just me or did others see a Walter Mitty type in Ganley? - Did he really think he could form a pan-european party and bank roll it from thin air?

With a bit of luck he's gone and won't return.

Darc, don't be surprised. This man has done much worst things than this in life.. Have you heard about what he has done to people of Albania..?

In the 90's government of Albania started big privatization process. Every citizen received a share of government's income of that project. It was a voucher, given for everyone. In 1996 Declan Ganley established a company called Anglo-Adriatic Investment Fund. Company promised to invest that money and after several years, pay you your part of the income from that investment back. You didn't have to give them any money, just your voucher. Half of million Albanians decided to trust him and transfered their vouchers to Adruatic Fund.

Company vanished. None of the Albanians got his money back as well... $120 million so far.

    From wiki:
Der Spiegel stated that AAIF's UK office (128 Mount Street, London, W1Y 5HA) shared an address with the European branch of US investment fund Paladin Capital, and also stated that Paladin Capital's advisory board was chaired by former CIA director James Woolsey. Ganley denies any involvement with the CIA.

    Make your own conclusions.
