I'll probably get Molly's Chambers. And maybe Prayer of the Refugee.

    Fairly poor week otherwise

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

And there's some Kings of Leon! I wonder if the pack comes with a special "sell out to the teeny boppers" option just before you get to play the song!

    SELL OUT

Uh-oh! Looks like you've run out of cash because you've spent it all on alcohol, hoes and drugs! There's only one route left... Make an album which undermines everything you've worked to achieve over the past 6 years but appeals to the ravid teeny boppers and idiots!! Do you want to sell out and abandon your faithful fan base, but simantaneously make crap loads of money?

    YEAH SURE!
    NO WAY!

That would be awesome, I'd buy that.

The Blink 182 pack is going to make them so much money.

    Possible Pantera DLC:
So apparently VH-1 Classic leaked the DLC for August 4th. My friend was watching earlier, as it was hip-hop time on Fuse, in his words. The video for one Cemetary Gates played. After the video, there was a recording that said "Play this song, and 5 other Pantera classics on Rock Band starting August 4th."

ment to post this a few weeks ago and forgot, but after being stung with a few duds recently it reminded me about it.

has a video of the charts for most of the dlc track's so you can see what you are getting.

Think i'll hold off on getting them blink tracks if there is going to be a big pantera one soon as points and $ are low

I didn't know Harmonix released an Accordion for Rock Band.

Pleased to see the Blind Melon song on there , the rest does nothing for me.
Not a huge foo fighters fan , but they might be fun to play.

There's too much f*cking Foo Fighters on this game already. They got a full album and tons of other DLC, and now they're getting 3 more songs? Ridiculous.

I'm assuming if it was a band you loved, you wouldn't care. You could easily say there's too much Rush up, or too much Megadeth. If peace it sells, keep supplying!

This is the sort of game that's supposed to appeal to everyone though, across all genres of rock music. It's just too much bloody Foo Fighters. There's not nearly the same amount of Megadeth or Rush up compared to them anyway.

Popular bands sell well as seen here by Keldon DLC popularity list.

Foo Fighters songs sell well and they obviously have no problem licensing their songs; makes financial sense to release more songs.
Iron Maiden (44K across 360, PS3) hasn't exactly set the DLC charts on-fire compared to Journey (190K) which was released around the same time.

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

As wonderful as Harmonix are, you need to remember, they're a business, and despite all the PR, they are looking for the same thing every other business is. Profit. And if Foo Fighters bring in the profit, then Foo Fighters stay in the DLC charts for-everlong. If Rush roll in the moo-lah then they will remain in the limelight.
I feel dirty after those puns...

Pearl Jam - Backspacer to be released on sunday
For the first time ever, Harmonix will be releasing a full album as DLC for Rock Band in conjunction with the album's general release.

Pearl Jam's new album, 'Backspacer', will hit the Rock Band Store on Sunday - the same day the album hits the shelves in stores.

For lucky US folk, a special edition can be purchased at Target for $29.99 and will include a code to download the full album DLC.

    The full track listing is:

    Gonna See My Friend
    Got Some
    The Fixer
    Johnny Guitar
    Just Breathe
    Amongst the Waves
    Unthought Known
    Supersonic
    Speed of Sound
    Force of Nature
    The End

Though the price for the full album via the Rock Band Store is yet too be revealed, I think it goes without saying that each track will cost 160 MSP.

Doubt ill be getting the whole thing, the fixer and just breath could be good ones though.

Are 3 of those songs cover versions (SuperSonic, Speed of Sound & The End) or are they just named after famous songs by well known bands?

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

From what I can tell, they're not covers

It's about damn time Alice in Chains got a little more Rock Band love, I'll be getting all 5 of those songs.

Still though, Dirt needs to be full album download.

+1 for more songs off dirt, godsmack would be ace ..... the song not the band of the same name, though mind you Awake by Godsmack would be hella cool to play especially the breakdown in the middle :o

Guess ill never see any deftones in these games
but I can live in hope :pac:

With this new rock band network, I'd expect you'll see a lot more names being dropped into the hole, don't give up hope just yet!

I'd say Activision shelled out a lot of cash to get those promotions going. Any attempt to revive a once great video game franchise that's becoming stagnant and old, repeating itself again and again.

Onto something that doesn't suck though, this week's DLC! Breaking Benjamin and Alice in Chains are an instant buy for me! Been waiting ages for Would?, and The Diary of Jane and So Cold are just an added bonus!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,126 ✭✭✭✭calex71

    Been waiting ages for Would?,

Hells yes had the opening riff in my head all day :D

Well I got would? and Rooster today.

    Rooster is brill!!!

    Would? ........ Bitterly disappointed
The mix in the levels on the guitar track is aweful, the chorus is just pure noise !!!! Maybe just my setup ? Although I doubt that as everything else sounds fine. :(

Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 System and Wii

Nashville-based rockers The Raconteurs, composed of Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, will release three songs for Rock Band Oct. 6. "The Raconteurs Pack 01" features "Steady, As She Goes" from the group’s first album, Broken Boy Soldiers, which was nominated for two Grammy Awards; as well as "Many Shades of Black" and "Salute Your Solution," from the group's Grammy Award-winning second album, Consolers of the Lonely.

Additionally, tracks from Alanis Morissette and The Flobots will be featured for DLC next week, and Electric Six also makes their Rock Band debut. The Detroit natives offer up a three pack of songs for the Rock Band Music Store and will kick off a U.S. and UK tour Oct. 14.

    • The Raconteurs – “Many Shades of Black”
    • The Raconteurs – “Salute Your Solution”

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,126 ✭✭✭✭calex71

    Electric Six

I like dance epidemic but will be checking the videos of it b4 i consider it.
Electric 6 had some good tunes on the 1st 2 of their albums, these have to be very poor choices from them overall. Dance commander would have been sweet. Maybe Danger ! High Voltage is out already but don't recall seeing it. And their cover of radio ga ga would have been cool also. Oh well :(

Just as a matter of interest does anyone know if the track packs have codes to import to RB2 or is a license like RB1?
