transit connect alternator busted

anybody ever heard of this one before ,alternator mounting brackets broken and left hanging on by the belt ,van still going though but has been a tad noisy in recent months. main dealer wants 500 quid for a new one , mechanic tells me a new alternator for s class merc is not even that much, only 390 euro. anybody know…

anybody know where i can get a decent recon or a new one .have used transitpartsandpanels in the uk before and found them good, but cant wait 5 days for delivery have to work. they only want 148 sterling plus shipping for a new one. rip off ireland still alive and kicking, methinks.
