Quick sink paste

    Hey guys,

    Can anyone tell me anything about quick sink paste for fly fishing.
    I'am asking on behalf of someone, its called A MUCILIN Quick sink paste.
    Their not too sure what their doing with the stuff so any info would be great.

    It's probably to dress the leader for about 12" behind a dry fly to get it to sink under the water while leaving the fly floating. Stops the fish being spooked by the line.

    As pullandbang said its to sink the leader slightly so as not to spook the fish. If the leader gets stuck in the surface film it can spook trout into not taking a dry fly, but if the leader is slightly below the surface the fly looks more natural.
