Hi there. I have an allotment and I am enjoying every minute that I spend working it. I was hesitant about putting down potatoes in May because I heard it was to late, past Paddy's Day. I planted some anyway, chancing my arm and all. they're coming up fine but what they'll taste like will probably be another story. Dunnes Stores Roosters by the way.
What I want to know is, can you get potatoes that you can plant as late as June/July? I heard somewhere that you can get blight resistant potatoes, and if so, where can I get them? I live in Clonsilla in Dublin.
thanks in advance. PS. couldn't sleep. Thinking about Potatoes:D.

    Sarpo Axona (Organic)
A very floury variety, no need to add butter or milk when mashing, high yields and good storage potential. As well as good blight resistance it seems unbothered by slugs, wireworms and viruses generally. Axona and Mira should be your first choice to grow organically.

    Sarpo Mira (Organic)
Sarpo has unprecedented blight resistance, huge yields of tasty, floury tubers in a range of soil types, vigorous weed suppressing foliage and long storage. In test, tubers do not appear to be affected by slugs. A real all rounder for cooking.

Grow Your Own New Potatoes For Christmas Carlinford
The original second cropper and still the best. Oval white skinned and waxy tubers for the ‘New Potato’ taste out of season. Tubers are dispatched end July-early Aug for planting immediately to ensure spuds for Christmas.

Hi belfast. Thanks for the effort you put in to your reply at such an early hour, but unfortunately all of the potatoes mentioned where out of stock.
I'll get in touch with Mr.Middleton's in Mary street and ask about the possibuility ofordering them in. Thanks again.

Thanks again Belfast. I have just emailed both places. I'll let you know how I get on. I'm just worried about the postage charge. I might go and collect from the kildare grower myself to save on the post.
    thanks.

I was on to Frank the potatoe grower with donedeal in Moyvalley Kildare and he emailed back saying he accepts laser and credit cards but I dont want to give him the details over the phone or email, as he doesnt have a proper website with credit card protection. Fraud and all that.

Has anyone ever dealt with the above? Thanks
