    Hey,

I currently have eircom broadband in the centre of Ennis, never any trouble before on connections. But for last week, DSL has been dropping once every hour which is very annoying for my job. I don't need high speeds, just need reliable, low ping connection to my servers which I used to have.

Here are line stats at the mo, very bad:
    Line State Up
    Modulation DMT
    Data Path Interleave

    Downstream Upstream
Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 7616 672
    SN Margin (dB) 1.50 12.00
    Line Attenuation (dB) 14.00 8.00
    CRC Errors 0 1

downstream snr is jumping all round the place, from 12 and 15 down to 1.50 as you see here. Thing is, for past year never had any trouble with this connection *at all*. Can I change the downstream speed myself to something lower or do I have to ring eircom?
