Well thursday was a bit of a wash-out at Bethpage with about half of the field still to tee it up. At this very early stage we have a leader on the course in MountjoyMugger on +3 but being chased by a host of others(...much like you'd hope a mugger would be ). Hopefully play will resume later today so in the mean time I can only advise to try and stay loose, stay focused and stay out of the Virtual Hooters Tent!!! :pac::pac:

Your score is the aggrogate against par for your 4 picks. Normally scores are only posted after each round is completed but I put up a provisional leaderboard because of the delays. Only guys with all 4 picks who have started their round would be on this leaderboard. It will make more sense once rounds are completed.

As scoring should be high, players missing the cut will be given rounds of 82 for saturday and sunday. Your entrees need to be in by 11am Thursday. Round 2 and it's a change at the top with Kinda32 making a move and leap-frogging several guys and into a 2 shot lead. Still only one player beating par which is sure to please the virtual USGA :cool:. Some very high numbers at the other end of the board. At the half way point and still a lot of movement ahead at the business end of things I feel. Good luck to the contenders!!

Heading into the final round(at long last!) and we have a new leader in krahsrekop proving he can turn his hand to anything.. In a bold move he came from 8 behind to lead by a commanding 4shots with just 1 round remaining. Are there anymore aces in the pack? The lead has changed a lot this week so despite krahsrekop's advantage, it's still all to play for.. :pac:

Sorry ozymandias I replied to you on thursday saying those picks were not valid. I thought you just decided not to enter in the end. You couldn't have both Stenson and McIlroy. The rules for picks from the start of the thread are:
1. Top 5 - One pick from the top five in the official world golf rankings(Woods, Mickelson, Casey, Garcia, Ogilvy).
2. European - One pick from the European entrants for the tournament(not in the world top 5)
3. American - One pick from the American entrants for the tournament(not in the world top 5)
4. Rest of the World - One pick from the non-American and non-European entrants(again not in the world top 5)

Well there's the small matter of a virtual cheque for around $1300000!! (strong emphasis on the virtual there)

After 5 grueling days we have a winner and a deserved one too in krahsrekop. He hung on bravely just holding off the chasers in the end to claim the virtual US Open by a margin of 2. The closing stages very much mirroring the real action today at Bethpage. Virtual Old Man Par was the real winner though .
