    Hey Folks,

Relatively new to this so sorry if it has been posted already. Just wondering what you guys thought of the results of the locals in Tuam area, given the Tom Reilly and Michael Carey both lost their seats???

Both good councillors but changes in the electoral area boundaries scuppered their chances of getting elected. Cllr. Reilly held a seat in the Tuam Electoral Area along with Cllr. Michael Connolly of FF but the arrival of Mary Hoade from the Oranmore Electoral Area meant that one of them was going to lose their seat and Reilly was it. As regards Michael Carey, he too came into Tuam from Oranmore and was squeezed out because it was always going to be difficult for him to get reelected as Fine Gael put up Pete Roche in Abbeyknockmoy. Both Reilly and Carey were ultimately victims of boundary changes.
