Lions getting roughed up, I'm surprised this hasn't happened before this.

Reckon Earls may play himself into Test bench.

shocking from O Gara there, Earls cleared well. Still no consistency in this game, too many fowards mucking up any back play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

Earls could well nick the remaining wing spot Fitz and Monye haven't done much and been found out at times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,894 ✭✭✭dreamer_ire

Try saving tackle there... some of the Kings tackes are outrageously high!

great exitement there, both teams losing their structure.

ross ford misses his man at the line out

Why o why did Geech bring only one out and out 7? Why did he only bring one hooker who can play darts?

kickable penalty for the kings. They're serving Fitzy up to them on a plate with those shocking passes

They're killing him. He hasn't a hope of showing anything really if he keeps getting the kind of ball they're giving him.

I think ROG is playing well under a heap of pressure.

That was pure crap to watch. SK should be 9-3 up if they could kick the points.
Breakdown has been terrible again, the only highlights for Lions has been DOC playing very well & Earls with some nice running but still getting done at the breakdown.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 837 ✭✭✭kpnuts

Lucky to be level at halftime after all that. 13-3 wouldn't flatter the SKs, given they came closest to a try and missed a couple of kickable pens.

Agreed, I think between his performance today and Jones' in the last match he could be increaseing his chances of starting.... if he gets out of this uninjured.

Also think Earls and Donners playing themselves onto the bench at the mo.

Eliminate a couples of mistakes form ROG and Earls and the Lions would be up in this game.

Jesus they are killing us at the breakdown. Even when we have numbers there they manage to turn us over. Hines, Worsely and Powell as a combo are probably the worst loose forward trio to ever represent the Lions.

ya o gara has thrown out a few lovely passes putting players into space. he seems to be keeping the ball away from powell, which can only be a good thing!!!

His tactical kicking has been shocking though which is what is badly needed someone needs to calm the team down.

Fitzgerald is being murdered with horrible passes and options. His timing has been spot on and its unfortunate to see Blair really making a mess of the passes.

Earls has been good but lets not get carried away this opposition is made for broken field running I think anyone at FB would be looking good.

Powells ****e. No doubt about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,198 ✭✭✭✭Crash

Fitz also the only one there who had a clue where the ball was.

I have yet to see any other player cut up the SK yet and SK defence isn't exactly solid.

Why is blair constantly going to the blindside when it's covered? He's had a shocking tour.

Gameplan. Geech has them going one way till they hit the touchline then the other till they hit that one.

    Nice penalty by ROG. 6-3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 670 ✭✭✭Stealdo

If anyone ever doubted the importance of having a decent back row, here's your proof. As if the last time Powell and Worsley played together wasn't bad enough.

Twice now in a few mins a Lion has broken from a splintered maul and found himself completely isolated.

Looks a good try for Monye there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

Interesting call this Monye facing his own try line so you can argue that he can't knock it on unless it's gone forward.

Yeah Luke hasn't had any ball.

    Monye will start now.

Didn't his left hand knock it on first?

IMO he has been impressive alright, he's mixing it up a little with his kicking game, which has worked out for the try and think he's 100% from the boot so far as well...pushing for the test spot maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

monye should have caught it but did extremely well to ground it

only think both Fitz and Bowe would have caught that ball instead of letting it bounce

ROG found his feet know with kicking out of hand, really pushing hard for that 10 shirt will be close but ill be happy whatever the outcome at this rate.

    ROG starting 10 now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 910 ✭✭✭Ciaran-Irl

Should take Monye off and bring the sick little welshman on. Can't play 80 mins with 4 days to go.

Would like to see Wally come on for Worsley

Did Barnes just say that Worsley was stripped like a baby?????

    Monye off. Shame for Luke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

About time he whistled them at the breakdown. Monye looks to have the wing sewn up now, although Fitzgerald hasnt been bad by any stretch of the imagination.

DOC has been immense. Shaw upped his game as well.
