Banning Members/Deleting Threads

Is it normal for a thread to be deleted just because the user was banned? nicnicnic was banned today and his vegas staking thread which 20 or 30 people have a financial interest in was deleted. The thread was in the poker forum. There was nothing in the thread that could have warranted it to be deleted on it's own. For those people who did spend some serious money they might be a bit concerned that they can't find it.

Would it be possible to re-instate this thread? Also, reasons for deleting it?
