I was playing poker on facebook last week and noticed that pretty much every woman there was getting hassled.
It was really messed up.
Any time a woman joied a room, every man there was asking to be their poker buddy, sending them drinks and smokes and stuff that isn't real.

I got talking to one girl.
not chatting her up or anything. Just laughing at me winning every hand and the luck of the Irish and stuff (I later lost it all).
Then some dude comes into the room and asks for her phone number.
Being the witty ****er that I am, I posted the emergency number from the IT crowd. I'm still wondering if the dude tried ringing it.
I was using my own picture at the time (the top 1/3 of the spire pic), but she still sent a buddy request. One of four over the past month.

After seeing all of this, I decided to pretend to be a woman for a while.

I started off using this picture: NSFW
Instant hits.
Friend requests coming in lefl, right and centre. Drinks being sent to me. Lame chat up lines. The whole lot. A lot of people from English speaking countries were wide to this though and they were my main target.
I used that pic for about half an hour and got about 20 friend requests and numerous gifts whilst jumping from table to table.

I then changed the picture to this.
Airbrushed to bits and bytes and so forth.

A total of 87 buddy requests over 5 hours of play.
5 people continued to send requests after I told them i was a 20 stone man.
Two guys gave me the height of abuse when i told them I don't accept buddy requests from anyone.
most of these requests were from English speaking countries.

I used my own name each time. I expected people from English speaking countries to be able to tell the difference between the masculine and feminine versions of my name (i for girls (mostly)).

I had chats saved, but my pc crashed (again) and I lost them.
Basically it was OMG. U R SO HOT!!!!!! and the same in various versions of broken English from people whose first language was not English.
I played along for about 2 minutes each time. That was all I could take.


Ladies, I don't know how you cope with this crap.


So then we have the other side.
The bitchy chicks (and I'm calling them chicks because they were about 16 or 17 and were complete chavs).
For this one I had my privacy blocked.
I only played one table and had enough.

The set-up is that two bitchy teens are taking the piss out of a fat guy (Aitch).
I have the chat logs for this one.

I wasn't arsed doing the rest.

You don't have to post a sexy pic or anything, it's enough for some guys to know you're a girl, and the friend requests and messages will come flooding in.

Don't know what the guys are expecting to get out of it. Also, I could not read that chatlog, it made my brain melt.

I love playing poker on facebook but the constant friend requests and gift buying and all the rest is head wrecking. Unless I'm at a table with friends I just mute the chat and play away.

EDIT: Actually, on the flip side, my boyfriend was telling me about a site he runs which has forums, and he said he often gets girls who post threads basically saying "omg girl here, be nice! x" looking for attention. So it sort of works both ways.

I once joined a site forum about Video Game Emulators, I was on a retro kick at the time.

All men (mostly young men I'm assuming).

I had to sign up through my yahoo account and I had some photos on another forum that I'd been on for years.

One of the emulator forum members found the photos and stated a thread and posted them up saying what a babe I am (erm, about 10 years older than you for a start dude) and how he was keeping my pictures as **** material. I kid you not.

Then all the other lads on the forum decided that either A) I was actually rotten looking, or That I could still be a total bitch so lets not judge on looks.

I had only made one post about Turrican 2, hadn't drawn attention to the fact that I'm a woman (even though the username is usually a giveaway), or asked for anyone to comment on me.

Never went back, it was a bit upsetting come to remember it actually.

A few years back on the offspring forum, I'd get a few PM's off guys saying stuff like "send me a pic" or wanting to cyber.I was only 15 at time time, and my age was displayed for people to see as far as I remember, so I was quite freaked out! Most of the people who sent messages like this weren't regular posters, some didn't even have any posts at all, so it was jusr as if they were signing up to chat to girls.
It was pretty annoying, but it doesnt happen anymore
