GGs Ramza/Tin, surprised to see you both drop stuff so much though, must've been noticeable input lag alright.

That match at the end is what happens pretty much every time Tin picks Ibuki vs. me. :pac:

Some of my HD test footage featuring some of our regs :)

I'm thinking of doing tournaments in the quality of the last one, it uploads to youtube at a rate of about 10 minutes per minute of footage. I think that's acceptable. I can leave 3 or 4 matches uploading over night.

The one with Farz is the highest quality but took over an hour.

    Bless Irish broadband.

PS: there's a few of Sagat 06 battering my head in to come.

    What size are the files?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,868 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM

    What size are the files?

Raw about 2-500 MB per fight.

    Exporting to MP4 halves this.

Running through MPEG Streamclip reduces further.

I can get it down to 60mb for a fight in iMovie but the quality does suffer.

    Get a stick.
    Easiest adaptation ever.

I could even see about making a keyboard-layout stick.

Custom-made box with big arrow-key / wasd buttons and the like would certainly be pretty unique (though I'm sure SOMEONEs done it before).

Not sure if we'd allow it in tournaments though. You're able to hold charge on a keyboard when you normally shouldn't be able to.

    Execution < mindgames.

Pro-tip: you're not losing to the combo.

Also, I'm pretty sure that this theory is discredited.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

    That theory has been discredited.

A keyboard will not allow you to hold charge when you shouldn't have it but it will allow you to start charging at the first possible frame.

Wouldn't using a keyboard be kinda awkward. Especially with the directional pad.

AFAIK it was discredited in the same way charge buffering was, ie that because the charge is broken when the button is depressed as well as when the direction changes all it can do is mean you're charging as fast as humanly possible anyway, but not faster than you're supposed to. I still charge buffer as it's a easy way to ensure your charge timing is good :)

I guess there might be some validity in the argument someone using a keyboard is still able to move faster than someone as a stick as there's no throw on a stick.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,707 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

Well, at best the keyboard user can start charge 2-3f faster.
    On stick:
    0f - direction + button press/release
    1f - neutral
    2f - b or d/b charge start.

I never got used to using a fight stick after I got one. Always thought that was they way your meant to play these games, more of an elitist thing. But just like you were saying, you're better off with what ever you feel more comfortable with.

Lol I think everyone would agree with you here.

There was a mad moment at one tournament where myself (stick player) and foamymushroom (pad player) were playing MvC2. Only thing is I play that one game with a pad and him with a stick. People thought they were in bizarro world watching us play!

Depends on the game, in HDR you can walk forward and hold back charge with Guile and throw sonic booms while walking forward, etc.

AFAIK you're right when it comes to SSF4 though.
