did you plug it out and back in again, when the itunes thing comes up on your phone. it takes a bit to boot up after this stage.

Mine too.
It told me to restore now it just has the usb screen and wont connect.

Ive tried about 5 times now to make it worked. Rebooted phone, pc .... nothing.

no i left it for ages and came back and it was askin me to unlock the sim. i did so and itunes wouldnt recognise my fone. left it a while longer and itunes timedout wile trying to request somethin for the iphone and now there is no os at all on my iphone and its prity much useless!!

Disconnect the phone , power up the phone and make sure its unlocked before connecting to Itunes

works after a while , the activation server is a tad busy etc

Itunes needs to be latest version also

also forgot to mention it gives me no options wat so ever under my iphone in itunes so i cant even restore it. it just constantly timesout while tryin to request somethin from itunes

hmmm, downloaded the update but as soon as it tries to begin the install it keeps failing as the iphone activation servers are temporarily unavailable.....i'm guessing that you guys began the update and half way through the servers died, hears hoping they come back up again sometime this evening.

O2 haven't enabled it yet in their carrier settings, workaround here:

LittleSnitch kept telling me about connections to verisign during installation, there must be a load of authentication in the process, so the servers must be under a lot of pressure. i would say it will work later, as with the last update, and the original activation.

Downloaded 3.0 fine, got an error message when updating the software. Have tried to restore the phone numerous occasions now, keep getting different error numbers, this is so annoying.

Nearly three hours after downloading 3.0 it still won't install on my phone because the activation server is still busy.

This takes me back to November 2004 and the release of Half-Life 2 on the PC. It was one of the first retail PC games to require internet activation. Naturally, half the planet whacked the activation servers all at once and much rage followed

Has anyone got the correct details for vodafone to set up MMS on 3.0? I have most of them but I've no idea what the max message size & UA Prof URL. I can't activate MMS in the message settings (it doesn't show), so the phone thinks the network doesn't support MMS. Got my other settings sorted fine though

After finally installing it on my phone, nearly all of my apps have been deleted!

Any ideas on how I could restore them. Before 3.0 was installed iTunes ran a backup of the phone, but I can't seem to find it.

Edit: And my camera isn't working either.

Why oh why is it so fcuking difficult to do a software upgrade!

I can't download or update any apps. It tries to start the download, says waiting, but then it says an unknown error has occurred and it stops.

To be honest apart from the copy and paste function I can't see my difference.

I can't see why people are celebrating Apple giving the iPhone functions that other phones have had for years.

ermm, because they have iphones and they have the features now too?

I'm finding that since I upgraded, my phone is no longer automatically connecting to my home wireless netowrk. I have to go into settings and tap the network in the list of found networks to get it to connect.
I erased the wpa details and put them back in but still no change.

I thought my apps were deleted too but I noticed that it put 2 extra blank pages on and if i kept scrolling I could find them.

The find my iphone functionality on mobile me seems to work ok. I laughed when I saw the voice memo app. I had that on my old siemens phone nearly 10 years ago.
