Hey guys, a bit hard to explain this one.

I bought a new PC, it has 5.1 (six colours on the back)
    http://www10.dealtime.co.uk/xPF-Acer-Acer-Aspire-T671-P4-631

I also have an LG DVD surrond sound player
    http://de.shopping.com/xPF-LG_LH_T6345

I want to use the surround sound on the LG from the PC.
Now, probem is, when I plug the Twin Phono Lead l32ba.jpg
(only connection on the back of the player)
into the PC through the 3.5mm Stereo Jack I get a popup asking me what I plugged in, the only one that will output sound is *headphones* and it only does it through 1 surround sound speaker (the front left)

Any Idea how I can get this to work?

For full surround, you will need to plug all the pc outputs, except the headphones, into the amp.
Even so, it should work as is on both front speakers with that cable you have. Check your wiring. Try plugging the 3.5 jack into another device to eliminate the pc as the fault. If it still is only on 1 speaker, then its either a faulty lead or an error in the wiring. Otherwise check the balance in volume control on the pc.

I've checked everything 4,5,6 times. the cables are perfect, if I plug in my other PC, phone, iPod, Flatscreen, they all work fine.
Its something to do with what or how the PC is outputting the sound....

    Really annoying

In which case I presume you've already plugged headphones into the pc headphone socket...????

If it only in one channel then its either the balance control in the pc audio mixer (have you checked ?) or its a hardware fault. i.e. the soundcard is kaput.

It would help to narrow down the problem if you inform us of what checks you have already done.

Surely there's a digital out on the player? Phono leads won't carry a digital signal.
