Just washed it down and gave it a good scrub. Didn't bother preparing it too much as the paint doesn't last too long on the lifter as it's used

Glad to see you did the repair in the end.
If you were going to buy a new bale handler i would have advised you to buy a double one . Once you go double you wonder why you used a single .

hi all, probably not the correct place, but ye guys seem to know the time of day, am looking after a small (9ha)) place at home for me da while he ill. I am looking to put up some form of lean to to cover the tractor, loader and spreader. I was wondering what type/ strength pole etc I should get it,dont want it to blow on to the road like.

side of unit has concrete layed when unit was put up, so am thinking of putting something on side of unit, would mean only a few poles to hold up the roof. would I be able to bolt a plate to floor or should I dig holes sink poles a 3/4 feet? any general advise be appreciated.. thanks guys

Fair play jerdee, nice work. There was a guy up near me that used to make similar type machines, Thompson Metal Models he was called but he couldn't get planning permission to move into an old broiler house to expand the business so i think he quit a few years back. (so much for helping rural businesses) He used to show at the ploughing and get big orders and they weren't exactly cheap either. He had tipping trailers, harvesters with swivel spouts and moving reels, rollers, and dung spreaders, everything was operated by ground drive.

i must admit it took a bit of time but was worth It. Have a baler in process but decided to get the tin work folded proper should be back in a few days i will post when its ready.
As for being cheap a lot of time goes in but i had a lot of stuff lying around and only bought a few lengths of box and pop rivets and two secondhand wheels .O and two flasher relays as burnt the first one out practicing wiring.....

Well done . I have 2 out in the yard since 1997. Hanging gates which are the boundary of the yard against the heap of silage. Handy to be able to move them out the way when cutting the silage.

The main difference is, I concreted in a length of 7" H iron . With a 25 mm hole out through the top of it, and using a chain, you can just pick it up ,hanging from the loader. How do you move it? With a transport box?

have one that's very similar to a bale lifter. so it only goes up and down on the arms. and hydraulic toplink

have a set for the front loader also
