Apols if in wrong forum. Couldn't see where else to put this.

Mate in China has a nice laptop which he says i can have. He has no trust in the Chinese postal system and reckons the chances of it making it are about the same as Eoin Ryan's. Priced shipping it with DHL and it comes in around €150.
Anyone out there have any better suggestions?
    Thanks

Don't know of a postal carrier, but you'd more than likely get hit for VAT on it when it arrives, if it's valued at over €45. Something to take into account before you do this.

get your mate in China to ship it via UPS / DHL - typically paying UPS in china locally will be about 50% cheaper than arranging ups here to collect & deliver

Are you outside the EU? VAT is payable when something enters the EU from outside. Coming from China into Ireland, VAT is applied.
