Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A quick question....I just got a 2008 Honda civic type S,... love it, no problems with the car but can anyone explain why the tax on it is €430 whereas the tax on all the other civics (1.8 versions) is just €230?
The type S has the same engine as all the other 1.8 civics so surely that is where the CO2 is generated?
The type S has a slightly wider back end and different suspension set up but I would have thought that the same engine would produce the same CO2 emmission?
Apparently the CO2 output from the Type S is 158g/km whereas the output from the other versions is just 152g/km.:confused:

More aggressive tuning I would presume. My car is 154 and the same engine in another car where its not as tuned is 139.

The Civic Type S is at 158g/km Co2 which falls into tax band D. The other 1.8 litre Civics at 152g/km are in tax band C.

Co2 tax bands are listed here:

Tuning and weight will effect the same engione in 2 different cars greatly. The same 1.8 in an Accord may well have it in a higher bracket again for example.
