I have to get house insurance for a house I'm renting out. Does anyone know any brokers who let you pay monthly by Direct Debit? Who offers good rates, there seem to be a lot listed in the phone book should I just start with the main ones or can anyone recommend ones who offer the best rates?

I think it is a case of ringing around to get the best deal (plus you will pay extra if you go through a broker). I have my house insurance with the same company that I have my car insurance as you get a discount. I believe that most of the large insurance companies give you the option to pay by direct debit. In some instances, you can get quotes online.

What kind of details about your house do you need to have?

As you are in a rented property it may be slightly different. I would imagine that the Landlord already has Insurance on the property itself and all you may need is Contents Only insurance.
