Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gig - f2.8 or f1.8??

Right I'll be taking pics of a few gigs in the Academy over the next few months and was wondering what would be recommended - my f2.8 Sigma 24-70 or f1.8 Nikkor 50mm.

The 2.8 is consistent throughout the full range and obviously gives the ability to zoom.

The 1.8 is faster and sharper, but is fixed at 50mm.

Now the Academy isn't exactly short on high-end lighting which would lend me to the Sigma, but Im just throwing this out there to see what you'd pick.

    Cheers!

I've shot with a 24-70 2.8 in there with no issues. It depends on the act though. Bring both and decide on the night :)

personally i have a listen to their tunes, big songs, so i kinda know what to expect movement wise during songs, black is not overly important tbh, just dark. sometimes silly glasses or summa to get good experssions from preformers hehe. watch the lights like a hawk, bout it

Go with the 2.8, I shot there with a kit lens and still loved the results.
