Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am looking for a mechanic to replace the engine in my 00 1.3 colt, I have purchased the replacement engine from Traynors and have the timing belt and clutch kits.

would anyone have an idea on what this should cost and/or recommend a mechanic.

That much for an engine swap? €500 sound a bit steep as it's mostly labour , How may hours should it take?

That price seems about right. It'd take a full day if you encounter no problems. And you prob wont get it done for much cheaper than that. Ive replaced an engine on one of these myself and they're fairly straight forward though.

Just an update on this for anyone else looking for someone to fit an engine. I got Summerhill spares to do this for me and I am very impressed with their service, they had the car for two days and the labour cost was €300. Other quotes I got for labour only ranged from €400 to €550 some of which were to do the job as a nixer.
