I live in Dublin 15 and I am having problems buying various kinds of meat in local butcher shops. I don't eat fish and I want to vary my diet by trying something other than lamb, beef, pork, chicken and duck. I can't find veal, venison or ostrich for sale. Can anyone help me locate a suitable butcher please? I don't want to travel too far.

Meat like that is specialist butchers only, there's one in Terenure and one in Donnybrook but you'll pay through the nose for it. you might have some look getting venison off people in the hunting forum - they're not allowed charge for them if they don't have a particular licence so some might have an oversupply. Maybe try different cuts of the usual meats and vary how you cook them?

Any idea of the names of the butchers?
