Give it some time OP. As he has just accepted his owner sister, he could be confused about what he wants now, and is trying to digest the news in his own way.

Yeah you're right,he seems like a lost soul at the moment :( . Would love to be able to tell him that we're all here for him to make it easier on his mind if he's worried about what we will say especially after the way he was with his little sister.Really hope this won't this doesn't ruin things with his sister just after things were sorted !

OP Hope everything is going ok :)-I know how you feel, you want to comfort him and show your support for him when he needs it most but can't at the moment so my suggestion would be to leave him be and when he does tell you about it be there as much as you can and let him know you are there for him and his gf if they need anything.
Regarding his relationship with his little sister I would doubt that would go off the rails again just beacuse his gf is pregnant, how has he been with her over the last few days ? is he any different with her ?

Firstly congratulations on your daughter and to you soon to be Granny status!:)

Your son loves your daughter, he just sometimes finds it hard to show it.

It sounds like he is nervous about becoming a Dad. Just try and focus him on how great he is with his sister, that she lights up when she see him and that he can settle her when no one else can't.

I wouldn't be too worried about him not talking to you much about work. A friend of mine is engaged to a Garda and she was having the same problem with him. He told her that sometimes he had to deal with things that were tough but that he wanted to leave them at work and not to bring them home.

Just tell him that you are always there if he wants to talk and leave it at that.

I know he loves her now ,the way he is with her he couldn't not :) and he still hasn't told me but I know he wants to he has come very close on a few occassions over the last few days to telling me but just can't get it out :D .
I've started to praise him on how great he is with her as you say I've been telling him how he'd be a great dad etc to try to give him some reassurance.
Hoping he relaxes about it soon though.

i'm sure he'll be fine. tbh he is probably waitng till this whole 'ignoring his sister' thing blows over ...still probably a bit sore for him atm. by that i mean, he's just spoke to you about that, then finds out he gunna be a dad. probably feels like he doesn't wanna put that on you right now? sounds like he is coming round to the idea of being a big brother..and a dad though :)

dont forget also, alot of couples dont tell their parents they are expecting for a while. till first trimester is over, due to the risk of miscarriage. i know i'm not telling my family (nor my OH's) till a bit later (just found out im pregnant:eek:). so he may be waiting till everything is ok, seeing as he doesn't know you already know lol.

if it was me i'd just jokingly say something like "why all the questions about babies now? you got something to tell me?"..but then your not me so thats not advice lol.

lets hope he tells you soon so you can go all gooey eyed over being a grandma :D

Op here, sorry I haven't been on in a while.Aw Darthoob congrats :) and there's still no change with me except he's back to ignoring the little one again :( when he's been over he doesnt want to hold her and doesnt want to be around her much :( now saying that Im hoping its because he's still in shock and is lost about his own pregnancy news which I gather he is as he is always putting himself down about his ability to be a dad and more worryingly I dont think he wants the baby :(

Well he told me last night that his gf is pregnant and I thought it would make him feel better but it hasn't.
After he told me I asked him him he felt about it and he said he doesn't know but he would turn the clock back and not have it if he could as he really can't deal with a child now and is considering his 'options' :( options being what I wonder ??
