...odd achievements!
Like the gimmick in fifa 09 where you get 19 for "last gasp goal" and then to even up your score you have to play 50 hours of fifa to get a single gamerpoint!
I got the arcade pack (after my first console broke!) and when i looked at the achievements for Luxor 2 I just said, here, am away!
I know i'm going to get "OCD" but it justy annoys me!

I hate odd achievments myself I had a odd gamerscore for awhile and it was so annoying!

I know exactly what you mean man. That achievement in Fifa gave me an odd score, but it evened up when I got the achievement for playing it for 50 hours so all is well!

People who seem to care an awful lot about getting achivements, rather than just enjoying the game for what it is. In order to acquirine some achievements you have to pull off ridiculous stuff.
They should be a bonus to your playing of the game...not something people should be actively considering whilst playing.

Why not? If you view them as additional objectives in a game they add an incredible amount of longevity after the game would have otherwise been done with.

Also, I wouldn't mind having an odd gamerscore, never had one before.

Yeah completely agree; thanks to Viking my gamerscore is completely screwed up! Problem is i couldnt be arsed trying to finish all the achievments in that game because after you've played through it once, it gets incredibly boring

I've never even looked to see what my gamerscore is! Achievements, well if I get then in the course of playing, well and good, but wouldn't bother me if I didn't!

There's a 2 point achievement in Half-life 2, where you score a basket while playing with dog. I didn't realise until I got it that points could be less than 5. For some bizarre reason it used to annoy me.

I never play games for achievements like some people who get king kong and the likes of that.
I just like the whole gamerscore thing as a side dish to the games that I play.

There are some pretty clever Achievements that are worth the extra throw in.

Lego Batman has one called "Atomic Backbreaker" where you have to break Batman's back while playing as Bane, a clever nod to the comic storyline Knightfall.

Also Dead Rising's "Frank the Pimp" is a laugh to try and get.

the odd score doesnt bother my , cant be arsed to check what game me 9 points lol, but i definitely think in some games the cheevos definitely add longevity , in the case of fallout 3 they actually helped me not miss missions and quests. Ones in Guitar hero / rock band really made me play to get better so i could get ones tied to expert difficulty.

Some of them are there to pimp multiplayer , which i totally disagree with, it just leads to quitters abandoning a match to preserve a 15 win streak on the way to 20 for a cheevo :mad:

Well spotted there, but most achievements are in multiples of 5, except for 1 point ones and the likes.

The one flaw with the achievements is that it's represented with a points value. If they had dropped the points system and just left it as a number of achievements per game so if you looked at somebody's profile it would say 5 out of 8 achieved for Halo 3 or something along those lines.

There's an achievement in Guitar Hero III that I got earlier, by refusing to play an encore song you get 0 achievement points. That's right, ZERO.

What's the point in that?

There are a few around like that. CoD WaW has two of them, the first for reaching Prestige and the second for 10th Prestige. Halo 3 has a few also.

Command And Conquer: Tiberium Wars has some aswell, for loosing a certain number of times in a row or something.

You have to get the zero point ones to truely complete the game. Otherwise you would have say, 1000/1000 gamerscore and only 47/49 achievements.
