Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

MSNBC: Hey look what one anonymous guy on Twitter said about today's rally! "Down to Dictators and Liars.... Tomorrow's rally IS THE MOST important one".

There isn't even any subtlety, they are just broadcasting propaganda. The BBC are also at it.

There are some very interesting strategic moves being made by the West right now..

I'm not sure where the line can be drawn between reporting and propaganda.

It's a given that the western media are overwhelmingly rooting for the opposition, but is that necessarily a bad thing?

It seems clear enough, especially in the past 24 hours, that the Iranian establishment are reacting forcefully to the threat to their power.
I think it's very reasonable to expect news sources to propagate the opposition's pleas in this situation.

I've mostly been following the coverage on BBC though, so it may be slightly more balanced than the US outlets..

    That is all

I just dont trust the mediato give us the truth, I dont trust the twitter reports to be anything more than blatent propaganda for the 'Pro Western' Side

63% of the Iranian population voted for Ahmidin ajahad there does not seem to be 37% of the poplatuion on the streets, its very suspicious, I dont trust the Americans I have a feeling they have orchstrated this to install a 'proWesern' puppet who will be 'nicer' to Israel

Last election, Ahmadinejad won with about 62% of the votes cast and nobody said anything; What's so different now?

The bbc were caught lying again as usual when they showed a so called pro hossein photo which turned out to be a pro Ahmadinejad rally.

The la times did the same thing.

Media are complicit in wars, elections and so on ........

There seems to be genuine unhappiness in relation to the truth of the election result.

No doubt external agencies may fan the flames a bit, but it doesn't seem like they really needed to engage in much additional provocation.

Mousavi didn't run in the previous election (apparently despite being seen as the leading reformist candidate), additionally, being his first term, the support commanded by Ahmadinejad would have been more of an unknown quantity, so the margins of the result may have been less predictable than the current election.

Yeah Great and what not, If a 16 year old has to die, then to hell with such government. Everything has a treshold and for the Iranians, I think the Ayatollah and Amadin***jad just crossed it.
However, i do agree that it is quite "funny" the way the opposition did not contest/oppose the results at first and then BOOM protests.

But yet, The value of human life cannot be over emphasized so the Iranian govt can go suck it

I'm not so sure about being nicer, or not to be honest, just to do what they want. btw we'll have to find a new name for the "americans".
the nation and the people are a front, scape goats.

channel ten ran a piee aout there not being recount, the image behind the newscaser was of a Man (iranianlookin) inParamilitary regalia with a machinegun, fair andbaanced reporting there.

    also,

Iranian Police riot squads break up small but vocal groups of dissidents after election

    Horrible,shocking abuseondemocracy.

    but

British Riot police break up small but vocal group of dissedents at G20 Summit

Brave and heroic police officers dealing with unreasonable hippies and aggitators

The time is close lads, soon, very soon its all going to go down, people are starting to wake up to the lies and deceit, they will get angry soon, and then there wille riots andthere will be lynchings in the street, I'm amazed it hasnt happened yet.
