    What do you think of the classic 1970s thriller about a modern pagan society?

    It wasn't about a modren pagan society it was a thriller about a cult which lived on an island.

    Avoid the remake with Nick cage in it like the plague.

    I have a copy of this film on my PC and I think its brillant. The film is suppose to have been influenced by the famous anthropoligical book 'The Golden Bough'.
    Anyhow. one of my favourite scenes is when Lord Summerisle (Christopher Lee) looks at a slug on a bush and recites a verse from Walt Whitman.

    I think I could turn and live with animals, they are so placid and
    self-contain'd,
    I stand and look at them long and long.

    They do not sweat and whine about their condition,
    They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,
    They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
    Not one is dissatisfied, not one is demented with the mania of
    owning things,
    Not one kneels to another, nor to his kind that lived thousands of
    years ago,
    Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth.

    I guess you gotta save the virgin for the really important sacrifice when the world is about to end:-)

    Although to be honest at this rate by that time there will such a shortage someone will have to volunteer to get theirs redone.

    I mean seriously could we even find a garda who was a virgin now??

    Oh .........oh yeah .....sorry...............yeah we probably could you know....poor little fellas they look so forlorn in their yellow aluminium coats sometimes. And traffic wardens i imagine their are a lot of traffic warden virgins.

    Could we sacrifice a traffic warden do you think?

    Ok no carnage! Sorry:p:p
