Sorry I did not bring a good lens - there was no trouble getting in with camera etc.
This is from the highest row row Z (where you can hear god fart)- with a tamron 18-200 lens (1600iso)

I shoved the lens into my jocks as one of the lads here said they dont check that area.

as it happened - there were no checks at all:D

Big Ben, taken in January 08 I think. I just started using GIMP tonight and was testing it and messing around. I cropped it and made it B+W. I think it looks nicer now.

I've always maintained there was a correlation between the size of the lens and ... that area!

Yeah. The commentary was a bit annoying though - that awful mid-Atlantic accent! I'd love to see the electricity bills for these places between aircon and lights.

if you are still in hong kong, you should visit the IFC buildings, there is a platform above some shopping/restaurant area. I'd recommend you go there for some shots, you can get some really nice views of the city and the surrounding buildings.

Nice shot. Maybe try a little s-bend in the curves control within the Gimp which would give it a small bit of extra punch. With perseverance, The Gimp can be really good.

A real question of trying to overcome the medium here. This was taken on an ancient , battered Canon compact with the iso cranked up, zoomed right in while jumping up and down. Noisy as hell and not even close to sharp but it is a great memory !

I've been wandering around gawping at some of the buildings. It's amazing how a 60 storey building can be almost invisible from 3 sides. I was at the IFC today. Took this from the entrance to the ferry terminal.

cool they are building a 100+ storey building out in Tsuen Wan as far as I know, it will make the IFC buildings look small :P I'm not sure how much time you got to visit places, the older parts of the city is nice for *random* photos you could try going to Sham Shui Po, The Kowloon Walled city, Wong Tai Sin temple, Man Mo Temple or to Kai Tak airport (the old airport). Lots of old city life for random pics /me should dig out some pics to post
