Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

"Use crawl gear"

I seen this on a sign coming out of Slane village toward Dublin at the top of that notorious hill with the bridge at the bottom.

Is this aimed at trucks? At cars?

Do trucks have a special crawl gear or do they want people to drive in cars in 1st?

    Thanks

Most trucks will have a crawl gear. Aimed at them

Yes most trucks have a crawl gear and it is aimed at them. Crawl gear is a really high torque, low speed gear, hence the name crawl. If the hill is very steep, a lot of trucks would not make it to the top in a normal gear, especially if they had a heavy load on.

The sign (at least the one I seen) was just at the top of the hill before going down.

Big misleading maybe toward motorists who may not be sure what it means? Or is it just me?

Nope, still aimed at trucks. The crawl gear also gives them extra engine braking when going downhill.
