Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Brilliant, from the Telegraph article above...
A Top Gear spokesman said: "We never comment on speculation as to who or what The Stig is."

Some say his finger prints are exactly the same as the tread on Pirelli P-zero tyres, and if you were to stand on corner 38 of the nurburgring on a Wednesday evening - you can hear his mating call.........all we know is, he's called the stig

Some say that he has a sixth and even a seventh sense, and that he can communicate telepathically with a cars computerised engine management systems, all we know is, is he is called "The Stig"

All his heart valves have variable timing

find this hard to believe , akin to bruce springsteen busking in central park at the weekend , why would schumacher need such a relativley minor gig

You hardly think one of the most expensive sportsmen this decade has been driving cars around an airfield in the back arse of England. He was sunning himself with some cute blonde in Monaco instead! He was The Stig for this episode.

It was all a publicity stunt...right?

I remember hearing theyve gone through about 6 Stigs. Each one more badass than the ones before and after him...

    Figure that one out

This may be a personal issue, given that I'm male, but I found myself torn between watching the Hills tonight and watching the new series of Top Gear.... I eventually went for the Hills.

It's obvious that there are many stigs it depends on which professional driver is available at the time. They are not all racing drivers. Why do you think they cover them up?

The stig revealed himself, i thought top gear was a family show :P

OMG, like you totally quoted like an old guy, on like the internet. You are like waaay not cool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 765 ✭✭✭6ix

I thought Stig stands for Stand-In Guy, and that it was usually the test driver for the particular make of car. E.g. Aston Martin want their car to do well around the Top Gear track etc, so they bring one of their own test drivers to do the driving, Lambourghini bring their guy, etc.

Then for other non specific stuff, they got that Ben Collins guy. Could be wrong though.
