Just moved back home after college. Both houses have Eircom broadband. I brought the old router with me.

Question: Can I plug the router I brought back with me into my PC with a short ethernet cable to save me the trouble of running a long one down to the router connected to the phone line?

Please, you no make fun. I have the dumb.

No you can't have two modems running off the same line.

    Dang.

The router came with a usb that picks up the wireless, so you don't need to run a wire from the router to pc. Are these generally available or am I better off strolling down to maplin and picking up a switch?
