    Hello folks,
I am looking for a Logic Pro guru who would be willing to do some private lessons at my place on a semi regular basis. I am based in Dublin's north side and willing to pay by the hour + travelling expenses. Ideal times would be outside of office hours, after 5pm weekdays or on the weekends.

I have followed some of the online tutorials & books on the subject but I feel that some one on one training would be far more beneficial in my newby state :D

Hit me up via PM if you are interested, thanks!

    Cheers,
    Acman.

Okay, i am going to go out on a limb here ( as a fellow newbie) and say that you should probably stay learning yourself. In the early stages there is a lot of simple stuff to get down, and simple repetition and continued writing will help with that. Tutorials and the internet are FULL of information and help.

I also think it's in the early stages that you pick up the tiny little things that both influence and differentiate your sound.

I would say stay learning yourself, and when you get to the point of having some very specific questions to ask a pro, see about hiring one to help?

Without a shadow of a doubt.. There is absolutely no substitute for being shown 121. Thats goes for everything in life.

I agree with what you say about influencing and defining your sound.. but Software is not exactly like a Guitar or Drums, where having your own gimpy way of doing things might be beneficial.

Life is far too short. You have to get in there & make your own opportunity.

There is a lot of Technique involved with software & its hard to see the wood for the trees with so many features. Showing someone the basics at this early stage could only make them take the first innovative steps earlier.

With Software, it really is all about knowing the rules so that they can be broken.

jtsuited was talking about doing a track in a day in Maynooth.. Maybe you could go along to that for starters.. Obviously check it with him 1st! LOL :pac:

I think if you are going to do anything 121 like that, you'd be better off seeing if you could arrange to travel to them.

I've set up LULI - Logic Users List Ireland.. For exactly the same reason as you acman. I'm down in Roscommon now.. Moved from Dublin in September.. & I'd love to meet up with someone to learn more.

I'll look at a course at some point, but I think 121 is the best. Can prove to be more relevant if you have chosen the person & its pure specific 100% learning time.

Personally, its certainly all that I could do at the moment, based on my geographic location. Cant do overnights in Dublin as I'm currently jobdevoid. Hoping to go back to College in September though!

Take a look on myspace & see all the Lads.. everyone is mainly in Dublin. You might find someone Mate!

Add me if you are on myspace acman.
