Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i test drove a ford focus the other day (05 zetec 1.6tdci) and found that there a lot of noise upon acceleration. noise was fine at cruising speed but growled rather than purred at acceleration

has anyone else experienced this with the focus? any opinions?

i have drive plenty of other cars but not experienced this before, could have been a dodgy engine or whatever but i would like the opinions of other diesel ford owners

I had one for 2 years and found nothing out of the ordinary other than normal diesel engine noise which is more vocal than a petrol engine.

The best thing to do is test drive a similar car and see if it sounds the same.

Was it the engine being cold or the car parked up for a while?

As said, take a different one out and see how they compare

Was the noise coming from the passenger side, under the windscreen?
