Desktop Internet via LG Viewty on Meteor Prepay

Is it possible? I know that the Viewty is capable of being used as a modem but is it possible with Meteor Prepay. I've been unable to find any settings on the Meteor Website and the Viewty doesn't give me access to the full settings on the phone. Does anyone know anything about it?

+1 for Joikuspot. Works like a dream on my N95 and o2 plan. My favorite app. Try it with the free version first but then buy the ad free one.

cant you just use a usb cable and ATD *99# ?

try wap.mymeteor.ie for AP. No user and no password. yea i know it says 'wap' but you can use it for anything

I can't help you on the viewty, but I use a nokia n95 8gb as a modem on meteor prepay with no issues - edge speeds are fine for basic internet eg check email, book flights, read blogs etc. keep an eye on the 50mb limit tho'.

Are you planning on using a USB cable or Bluetooth on your PC/laptop to setup your handset as a modem?

The LG pc suite should have an option to connect to the internet. You should be able to enter Access point information on the software and not have to touch the phone. Look for an option to connect to the internet and manually specify settings. The only thing you should need to enter is the access point, data.mymeteor.ie. Ignore username/password and proxy information

Yeah it does. Just open the one that says "internet kit" in lg pc suite, you don't need any settings as you can just select the country and network and you're sorted.

Bear in mind that on PayG, you get 50megs of usage for 99c. After that, it's 2c per kb. Can eat your credit fairly fast.
