Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

BMW 316 CD Changer (Boot)

I got a BMW last october... but it doesnt have a CD Player in it... :eek:
In the boot, on the left hand side, there is like a little trap door on the inside
and seemingly you can fit a CD player in there...
Does anyone know which type I should buy and where I can get it?
Its not the type that hangs from the roof of the boot... it fits into a little hidden place in the side...

Hi Emma,
You have a few options really.... In or around that pocket in the boot there should be connectors that you plug the changer into.
1) You could get an OEM changer to fit into the pocket in the boot. they would be very expensive from BMW, so if you could get one from a scrap yard or ebay.
2) You could get a standard CD Changer with an Ibus converter, which would then mount on the underside of the boot lid.
3) You could get a Dension Ipod interface to plug into the changer wiring. Pop all your music on an ipod. The Dension interface + Ipod will fit in the pocket in your boot.
4) You could upgrade your radio/tape player in the front to a radio CD. You can get these on ebay for €100, and aren't too hard to fit....
On my E46 when i bought it, it had option #2 above fitted... but i installed options #3 & #4 above.....0 -

You'll also need to check to see if it is pre-wired. If it is then it is simple enough, if not it will be a more time consuming and expensive job.0 -
