Jackobyte, keep an eye on bazaarlee.co.uk -I know their website says early 2011, but I know for a fact they're getting a few in stock in the next 2-3 weeks

If anyone bought a danbo and doesn't want it, I'd be willing to buy it off them for a reasonable price. PM me if interested.

I bought mine off ebay. It came from hong kong (import duty free :D) in 4-5 day and had a tracking number. There are hundreds of them out there

Does anyone know if an amazon.com voucher will work on amazon.co.jp?

EDIT: Also, is the 8cm or the 12.5cm model better for photgraphy?

The bigger one is a lot more expensive

There's a model train trade show in Wexford on the 24th October in St Joseph's Community Centre. I'm not interested in model trains but the props and scenery are fantastic. Here's a shot from last year.

After much, much oogling I got myself the Canon 100mm. Decided to be like a kid at Christmas and not open it until today, it was well worth the wait :) First shots:

    Cool :D
got my daughter a Bratz and also a Blythe (that came with littlest petshop!), have been planning all sorts of shots in my head ever since :p

In fact, have been eyeing the entirety of the figurines toy box since I came across this thread :)... and ordered 2 lots of cheap hongkong made figurines, will glorify myself as an ever so kind mother and steal them in the cover of darkness for selfish photographic fun, mouhahahahah...

No. Sick of seeing him tbh. it was funny for about 5 minutes a year ago.

Much prefer those last few images!

    Cheer up mr grinch :pac:

Most people like Danbo, and he's not meant to be 'funny'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,700 ✭✭✭Mountainsandh

I'm on Cagey's side here, Danbo bores the head off me tbh, at this stage . Post 238 p.16, that one has more potential for example, or the soldiers, the workers that were on previous pages.

Doesn't have to be funny, doesn't have to be obvious if you don't like obvious, it's just there's so many characters or non-established characters that can be used, Danbo's only credentials seem to be his popularity, imho.

edit : the little green tic tac with the broad smile and wooly hat is interesting for example

Ah no, just stating how bored I am with that character, if you're on flickr then you'll know exactly what I mean. They have groups dedicated to him! I mean ... come/cop on!

Mountainsandh, I think you should start up an anti-Danbo group! I'll join.

I'm actually not too sure! That first shot is definitely on the line of the minimum, I wanted to see just how close I could get. Just not sure what the number is :o

    Great, that's about 12 on here so ... :D

Don't you find those danbo shots just ... samey? I mean, there's 10000's of toys and models to choose from!

I'm not anti-toy shots, I've done my bit:

the fact he's in them all as a constant kinda makes me look at the picture a bit more, and works better as series of photos.
