Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The husband went out to go to work just now and when he hit the button on the car key to unlock the car there was not a click or a flicker or anything at all.

He can get into the car with the actual key but can't open the passanger door to get at the fuses. (??) Nothing from the ignition either. It's like a corpse car!

Any advice or anything really appreciated!

Probably just a flat battery, maybe an interior light was left on or something...

No, don't think so. There's a light on the dash flashing when you turn the key in the ignition. It's a key in/on a car symbol... and the light indicating the door is open is on. It's as if it's been imobilised.... :(

That does sound like the immobiliser symbol. Perhaps the immobiliser it triggered from the remote locking so if that isn't working.......

Try hooking it up with Jump Leads (tell me you have them), then use the remote key fob to unlock. Hopefully it will clear the light on the dash and start up.

Cheers for that! We're in the UK at the mo but FBD are sending out someone as I type so 'spose he will try that! Fingers crossed that's all it is!

Flippin' electronics! Just joked to the hubby (who didn't laugh!) that I should never have sold my old '95 Fiesta - 'twas pure mechanics!

thanks a mill for the super quick replies! :D

And yes, we have jump leads!
