Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

'05 Beetle - Trade in or sell privately?

    Hi,

My girlfriend's sister is changing from her Beetle in the near future. It's a 2005, 1.4 Highline so it has all the little extras such as heated leather seats, sunroof etc. 55,000km on the clock. And it's that red colour that they do the Beetles in, which people seem to like.

The question is what kind of price would she realistically achieve selling this privately? On trade in, she's been offered between €9k and €11k. Is it worth the headache of trying to sell privately?

    Thanks,
    NKay.

Best bet is to advertise it now, and see what offers she gets before she changes cars.

If she gets an offer for more than the trade in quote, then it's simple.

Be aware that it is nothing but a buyers market at the moment, which will work both ways for her when she gets a new one.

Good plan, although any offer of the trade-in quote less the cash discount on the new car makes sense for her.

Yeah that's a good point actually.

Where do you think is best to advertise these days? Is it still Carzone?
