Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Touch screen monitor with DVD ICE

    Hi all,
I am looking to swap my previous single DIN touchscreen fullface head unit with either a single or double DIN 7 inch (approx) touch screen TV with a DVD player, USB connection and bluetooth. I don't need sat nav or a TV tuner. I mainly plan to play music and videos from an external hard drive. I am just wondering what people would recommend?

I have been looking at a Kenwood KVT-524DVD which works out at about €630 from ebay with the bluetooth kit but it has only 2V preouts whereas my previous unit had 5v preouts which did make a difference IMO. Another choice from Kenwood would be a DNX8220BT but then you are hitting the €1k mark.

What else should I be taking into consideration? I already have replaced all the speakers in the car with Kicker units, 5 channel amp and subs so it is just a suitable headunit I am looking for. Any and all suggestion will be much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Kev.

I'd recommend this one for no other reason other than that it's the only one I'm really familiar with and was impressed with it.

    Hi Colm,
that unit definitely looks impressive but alais is not touchscreen which is something I am looking for. Do you know what voltage the pre-outs work at? I cannot find it on the brochure or website for that unit.

    Regards,
    Kev.
